Uh huh...
Part of my build sheet I started more than a year ago... but my PC now isn’t exactly dead. GPU is somewhat back to normal but holy crap memory is expensive now.
Maybe I should wait till Black Friday?

I could have used Ebay’s 20% off coupon to get myself that SLA 3D printer I’ve been wanting, but instead I dropped coin on an embroidery machine for the wife. Am I doing it right, or wrong?

Part of the memory price spike is due to supply being restricted for non-phone use. Smartphones use the same memory chips and DDR4 prices have skyrocketed in the meantime. Since I bought my last 32GB, the prices have essentially stabilized at double.
Also, wow, 1070Ti is nearly as good as the 1080 I have for $150 US lower. I should have waited for those, I paid too much for mine.

My current PC was from 2012 using DDR3, managed to catch a good price, $78 for 16GB with a free microSD card. Been using it since and it still runs like a champ. Which is why I’m so hesitant to replace it.

the ram prices be crazy. I’ve been tempted to unload my 32GB of ECC and just buy more non ecc to replace it!

DRAM prices are super high right now. There are supposedly 2 new fabs coming online in China next year to impact prices in 2020, but until then (if they even get off the ground), it’s going to be a seller’s market. The big 3 are putting it to the consumer.

Sweet Jesus tap-dancing Christ! My whole PC was scarcely $800 USD!

Yeah same. Got a low-end graphics card in 2014, planned to upgrade to a midrange one in 2016 or 2017 but then crypto currency drove the prices way above what I wanted to pay

Yeah I just picked up a 1060 3GB SSC GAMING for $230. Upgrading from a 750TI so will be a nice bump.

Eh, I figured I’d get one now before the crypto mining drives them up again.
